Who We Are
Paul Petersen & Company (PP&C) is a leading provider of premium custom upholstered wood furniture based in Vero Beach, Florida. Founded in 1992, we have been offering high-quality furnishings for over 30 years. Our furnishings support a wide variety of applications in residential and commercial spaces alike. We proudly manufacture all of our products in the United States of America and take immense pride in the workmanship that bears our name. Each piece is built to order by our expert craftsmen, who take great pride in their workmanship and attention to detail.
Our primary clients include interior design firms and retail furniture stores across the southeastern United States. We help each client create furnishings that reflect their style and brand as well as meet both the functional and aesthetic desires of their clients.
We have been doing this since 1992 because we genuinely love what we do: combining age old craftsmanship with cutting edge technology to produce beautiful pieces of furniture that will last for generations!
How It Started
PP&C was founded in 1992 by the Vern and Paul Petersen father-son duo. Vern was formally trained in the industry in Denmark and had been making furniture since the 1950s. Over time, this knowledge was passed on to Paul, who continued to refine and improve his skills.
What started as occasional chairs or couches for friends and family grew when they realized there was a true demand for their skills. In the early ‘90s, Paul & Vern formally opened shop on Commerce Avenue in downtown Vero Beach, Florida. Demand rapidly grew with PP&C fielding requests from interior designers from West Palm to Melbourne, forcing them to expand their skillset—and offerings—from reupholstering to constructing an array of furniture. They have always believed in creating the best possible product at a competitive price point, which has helped to sustain their continued success.
Though the team has grown over time, the business has moved up Highway 1, and some of the faces have changed, the traditions and commitment to quality Paul and Vern established continue to this day.
Some of the early techniques remain as they continue to be the gold standard: 8-way hand tie, coil spring construction. Yet experience and technology have allowed for improvements that decrease manufacturing time and overall cost to clients, while not compromising on durability or quality. This is one of things that has not only contributed to the staying power of PP&C through good times and bad but allowed it to remain a leader in the industry for over 30 years.
How It's Going
In 2022, PP&C came under new ownership and hasn't missed a beat. The same workmanship clients have come to know and love us for continues on to this day. We are proud to offer the same high-quality line of furnishings that we have since our founding.
Our new leadership has a vision of growth and expanding our geographical market while still supporting and contributing to the local interior design community that has made us what we are today - and helped us earn the distinguished reputation that we have.
